HO-Scale Radiator Route 66 Springs Cozy Cone Motel Model Multiple Buildings
Gold Rush Bay Ready Built miniature HO-Scale Cozy Cone Motel Radiator Route 66 Springs Model Building Measures 7.25 inch wide by 7.25 inches deep by 6 inches tall.
The Cozy Cone Motel is a perfect example of "Programmatic Architecture" (or novelty architecture), where buildings are designed to look like objects—in this case, giant orange traffic cones.
The design is a direct tribute to the Wigwam Motels that once dotted historic Route 66, specifically the locations in Holbrook, Arizona, and San Bernardino, California.
The Cone Structures: The motel consists of five standalone, oversized orange traffic cones that serve as the "guest rooms". Each cone features a circular base that tapers to a flat top, mimicking the rubberized look of a standard safety cone.
• The Main Office: The central hub is a larger cone that serves as the "registration" area. It features a wraparound window at the base and a neon sign that is quintessential mid-century roadside Americana.
• Materiality and Texture: The exteriors have a smooth finish to replicate plastic/vinyl
• Neon Signage: The motel features a towering marquee with a "Check-In" sign. In a clever pun the neon highlights "100% Refrigerated Air" and "TV" (standard 1950s motel lures), but also includes a blinking "No" on the "Vacancy" sign that oscillates to show "No Vacancy."
You will receive the entire structure in orange color for easy painting. Your Route 66 Cozy Cone Motel will be packaged securely but due to the extremely detailed nature, some finial, window or railing details my become misaligned or broken in shipping. Not a toy as small parts can be hazardous to young children. Condition is New. Good luck and happy modeling!
About the Company: Gold Rush Bay is dedicated to making the most realistic assembled Architectural Miniatures. Our goal is to have the largest catalog of architecture and Interior designs pre-assembled. Architecture has notoriously been hard to model in miniature by hand due to its intricate geometries. By offering assembled and color products instead of kits, the modeler can get more details in their models with less effort. Thus our highly detailed miniatures are favored by train enthusiasts and dollhouse collectors alike who want to bring their miniature worlds to life. We will continue to invent ways to produce the most intricate designs for collectors. Each Gold Rush Bay product is proudly made in the United States.
